Jennifer Curry - Ballerina

Curry_webJennifer Curry, an extremely versatile performer, Ms. Curry’s diverse repertory includes principal roles in Cinderella, Coppelia, Dracula, and Romeo and Juliet, to name a just a few. She has also danced the demanding roles of Aurora and the Lilac Fairy (Sleeping Beauty), Hippolyta (A Midsummer Night’s Dream), and Josefa (Legend of Josefa). In 2006, she gave a brilliant interpretation of the role of Juliet, earning her the title of Ballerina.

A graduate of the California Ballet School, Ms. Curry was invited to study at the Tbilisi Choreographic Institute in Russian in 1990, where she completed a certification of the highest grade under the directorship of Vachtang Chabukiani. She has been a guest artist with San Diego Opera and Michigan Opera Theater, and was guest artist and choreographer for the summer festival VIVA! El Paso in Texas. In 2009, Ms. Curry’s choreography Moving Over The Face of the Waters was awarded a permanent position in the CBC Repertoire.

A consummate actress, Ms. Curry has performed with Shakespeare on the Rocks Theatre Company, the role of Estelle in Jean Paul Sartre’s No Exit, and Elmire in Moliere’s Tartuffe. She holds a B.A. in Psychology from U.C.S.D., teaches for California Ballet School, and is a three-time CBC Dancer of the Year recipient. Ms. Curry is the proud owner of “Pilates On Park”, a pilates studio located in University Heights.
