Company Dancers
Adrian Rodriguez

Adrian-RodriguezAdrian Rodriquez joined the California Ballet Company in 2008.  He received his training in Mexico at Ballet Camara de la Frontera de la Universidad Autonoma de Baja California under the direction of Rafael Oscenguera.

Mr. Delgado has performed in Chicago, Los Angeles and other cities throughout the United States and in Mexico.  He has performed Principal roles in Swan Lake, La Fille Mal Garde, Circus, The Nutcracker and The Passion of Christ. Since joining the company Mr. Delgado has performed the roles of Gypsy and Tango in Charles Bennett’s Dracula and the Russian Variation in The Nutcracker.

 
Amanda Daly

Amanda-DalyAmanda Daly trained and performed with the California Ballet School and was Student of the year in 07.  Ms Daly joined the CBC in 2007.

Amanda’s favorite performing experience was Paul Koverman’s Elegy.  She was recently featured in CBC’s Pas de Duke, Suite Vivaldi, Dracula, Souvenir, Moving Over the Face of the Waters and has performed in Cinderella, Swan Lake, Beauty and the Beast, Giselle and The Nutcracker. An accomplished artist, Ms. Daly has also performed Musical Theater, including Starlight Theatre’s production of Oklahoma!, directed by David Brannen.  She has studied with Summer Lee Rhatigan and Alonzo King of Lines Ballet in San Francisco as well as with Jean Isaacs, San Diego Dance Theatre.  She is an instructor with the California Ballet School and an aspiring choreographer with works presented in CBC’s California Heritage Project and CBC’s Choreographer’s Concert…A Competition.  Ms Daly is currently a sophomore at the University of San Diego.

 
Antonio Delgado

Antonio-DelgadoAntonio Delgado joined the California Ballet Company in 2008.  Previous to dancing with CBC, Mr. Delgado trained with CBC alumni Stephen Hook, at Palomar College and in workshops with American Ballet Theatre.  Prior to joining the California Ballet, he performed with Axxiom Dance Collective, Palomar Dance Ensemble, in The Nutcracker and Cinderella with the San Diego Youth Ballet and was featured in the Spanish Variation of The Nutcracker with New West Ballet.  Since joining the company, Mr. Delgado has performed the roles of Gypsy and Tango in Charles Bennett’s Dracula and Russian in The Nutcracker.

 
Elizabeth Fields-Martinez

Elizabeth-Fields-MartinezElizabeth Fields-Martinez, received her early training from North Carolina School of the Arts and earned a Bachelor’s of Art degree in Dance from University of California, Irvine.  After dancing with both Ballet Pacifica and Inland Pacific Ballet, she joined the California Ballet Company in 2003.  With the company, Ms. Fields-Martinez has been featured as the Spring Fairy in Cinderella and her repertoire includes Swan Lake, Giselle, Sleeping Beauty, Midsummer Night’s Dream, Beauty and the Beast, The Nutcracker and Charles Bennett’s Romeo and Juliet, Dracula and Carmen ballets. She toured with CBC to Munich, Germany in July 2008 performing Pas de Duke and Suite Vivaldi. In addition to being the company bookkeeper, Ms. Fields-Martinez teaches for the California Ballet, and is the Dance Instructor for Our Lady of Peace Academy.

 
Guillermo Fitch Estrada

Guillermo-FitchGuillermo Fitch Estrada joined the California Ballet in 2008, performing in Cinderella and First View in 2009. This season will be his first full season with CBC. Previous to CBC, Mr. Fitch Estrada trained with Taller Coreographico de la UNAM in Mexico City. Now residing in Tijuana, Mr. Fitch Estrada teaches ballet at the university level as well as at independent schools.

 
Jenny Baron

Jenny-BarronJenny Baron trained in Florida with Ballet Florida, Magda Aunon School of Ballet and Festival Ballet of Boca/Delray.  She performed with Ballet Florida, Maximum Dance Company, and Long Island Dance Company before joining the California Ballet Company in 2003.  With the CBC, Ms. Baron has been featured in Valse Triste, Sleeping Beauty as the Fairy of Courage, the White Cat, and the Pas de Trois, and as the Dewdrop in The Nutcracker. She has appeared as a soloist in Souvenir de Florence, By Candlelight and the William Tell Pas de Deux. Ms Baron has also danced the role of a  fairy in  A Midsummer Nights Dream and the roles of Sister and fairy in Beauty and the Beast. She was featured as a Lead Wili and Friend in Giselle, and has also performed in Cinderella, Suite Vivaldi and other CBC repertoire.

Ms. Baron was voted Dancer of the Year in 2005 and teaches at several local dance schools.

 
Joseph Shumate

joe_shumateJoseph Shumate received his early training in ballet at the California  Ballet School. At age 14, he was made a company apprentice and promoted to Company Dancer at age 16. Joseph attended the University of California, Irvine, where he graduated in 2002 with a Bachelors of the Arts in Dance and Drama. He spent the next eight years as a working actor, performing nationally and internationally in musical theater productions, and is an active member of the Actors' Equity  Association. Returning to his roots in ballet, Joseph has come home to the California Ballet Company where he is currently a Company Dancer, on the administrative staff, and teaches a weekly workshop in musical  theater for the California Ballet School.

 
Luis Loaiza

Luis-LoaizaLuis Loaiza joined the California Ballet Company in 2002.  After a brief departure, he returned to the company in 2007.   Mr. Loaiza received his training in Tijuana, Mexico with Gloria Campobello School where he was featured in the Prince and Cavalier roles in The Nutcracker and performed in Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella.  Mr. Loaiza has since danced with Conservatory Ballet in Chula Vista and San Diego Ballet.  His featured roles with CBC are Chinese and Russian in The Nutcracker.  Mr. Loaiza’s other CBC repertoire includes Giselle and Pirates and Skeletons.

 
Miki Batchman

MikiMiki Batchman began her training locally at the Hammond Studio of Dance.  Ms. Batchman graduated in June 2000 from the University of California at Irvine with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Dance and a minor in Digital Arts.  While at UCI, she had the opportunity to perform as a Spanish dancer in David Allan’s Cinderella, as well as a solo performer with the UCI Spanish Dance Ensemble.  She joined California Ballet Company in 2001.  Her featured roles include Carabosse in Sleeping Beauty, the Witch in Snow White, and Spanish in The Nutcracker. She has also appeared in Cinderella, Giselle, A Midsummer Nights Dream, Beauty and the Beast, Charles Bennett’s Dracula, Souviners, Suite Vivaldi, as well as most of the CBC Repertoire.

 
Rebecca Correia

Rebecca-CorreiaRebecca Correia received her training with California Ballet School, and attended summer programs with Alonzo King’s Lines Ballet, Kaatsbaan Extreme Ballet, Boston Ballet and Summer Dance Lab in Walla Walla, Washington.  After a year as California Ballet Company member, Rebecca spent the 2007-2008 season training with the Boston Ballet while attending Boston University.  She had the opportunity to dance with Boston Ballet Ensemble in works by Forsythe, Ashton, Balanchine, and Bournonville and performed along side the Boston Ballet Company in The Defile and in The Nutcracker.  Rebecca rejoined CBC in 2008 and danced the role of the Dewdrop in production of The Nutcracker.  She has also appeared in Dracula, Coppelia, Midsummer Nights Dream, Beauty and the Beast and danced a featured role in Souviner. She is currently enrolled at University of San Diego and manages Dancewear, Etc at the California Ballet School.

 
Samantha Knobloch

Samantha-KnoblochSamantha Knobloch, a graduate of the California Ballet School, joined the company in 2007 as apprentice and was promoted to the Corps de Ballet in 2008.  She received additional training at Summer Dance Lab in Walla Walla, Washington.  Samantha has enjoyed being featured in the roles of Clara in The Nutcracker, and The Witch in Snow White.  She also danced in A Midsummer Nights Dream, Coppelia, Giselle, Beauty and the Beast, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Suite Vivaldi, Souvenir, Over The Face of The Water and Charles Bennett’s Dracula. She currently attends Mesa College in addition to helping with her family’s business.

 
Sarah Jones

Sarah-JonesSarah Jones became a California Ballet Company member in 2006 and has performed with the company in The Nutcracker, Swan Lake, Giselle, Suite Vivaldi, Sleeping Beauty, Charles Bennett’s Dracula, Souvenirs, Over The Face of The Water and much of the CBC repertoire.  She came to the California Ballet School in 2002 after studying in Fallbrook for 12 years.  She was awarded CBS Student of the Year in 2006, was featured in the Annual All School Concerts titled Anytown USA, and Route 66. Recently married, Sarah has attended community college at Palomar and has just been accepted to California State University, San Marcos.  She is currently a member of the CBS teaching staff.

 
Tae-Kyoung Um

Tae-Kyoung-UmTae-Kyoung Um received her training from the Kaywon High School of Arts in Seoul, Korea and later the Vaganova Academy in St. Petersburg, Russia.  Ms. Tae-Kyoung is an acclaimed dancer, having received over eight 1st place awards at a number of prestigious ballet competitions throughout Korea.  She recently joined the California Ballet Company’s Corps de Ballet and has performed the roles of Merliton, Snow and Flower in The Nutcracker.
