Born in Naples, Italy, Carlo Di Dio started his dance training in 1994. In 2000, he attended ballet class at the San Carlo Opera House Dance School in Naples. During that time, he danced for the San Carlo Ballet Opera House in several productions, including works from Duke Ellington Ballet by Roland Petit, Romeo & Juliet by McMillan and the Oedipus Rex Opera by Jean-Paul Scarpitta with the French actor Gerard Depardieu. In 2003 he attended ballet classes at Harmony Dance School in Naples, with Artistic Director Arnaldo Angelini, where he obtained his Ballet Diploma in June of 2005.

In 2005, Mr. Di Dio, began his collaboration with Teatro Massimo in Palermo where he rose to the rank of Soloist. He was featured in: Amarcord, I Have Dream, Franca Florio, Cassandra, Carmen, Giselle, Mefistofele Opera, Swan Lake, and Romeo et Juliet. From 2006-2009 Mr. Di Dio toured Egypt, Italy, and the United States as a lead dancer. In April of 2010 Mr. Di Dio was invited to perform with the Tulsa Opera in Tulsa, OK in Don Quixote by Michael Ehrman as a Principal Dancer. In August 2010 and August 2011, Mr. Di Dio received the Recognition of Talent and Recognition of Career award at the Labat Loano Dance Festival Gala in Italy.

Mr. Di Dio joined California Ballet Company as a Principal in 2010. His featured roles with CBC include Count Dracula (Dracula), Snow King and Lead Russian (The Nutcracker), Von Rothbart (Swan Lake) and Conrad’s Slave (Le Corsaire).
