President~
Leslie Levinson, Executive Vice President, COO and CFO – Ms. Levinson serves as Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer of Pierce Education Properties (PEP) and its multiple subsidiaries.  PEP is among the leading owners and managers of student housing in the U.S. PEP currently manages a portfolio of more than 5,000 beds of off-campus, purpose-built, best-in-class student housing. In addition, PEP owns a national portfolio of student housing assets, and acts as asset manager for the properties.  Prior to joining PEP, Ms. Levinson was CFO for the $200 million SDSU Foundation, the CSU system’s largest auxiliary organization.  As CFO, she oversaw an annual budget of approximately $180 million including nearly one million square feet of real estate valued at over $100 million.  A critical part of Ms. Levinson’s role at SDSU Foundation was direct responsibility for management and issuance of debt, including the organization’s complex tax-exempt bond offerings.  She was also previously CFO and senior vice president at Flagship Bank, fib, as well as at the bank’s holding company and four real estate subsidiaries.  Ms. Levinson was the 2005 President of the AOA, an organization comprised of representatives of all 87 auxiliary organizations (e.g. Foundations) of the 23 CSU campuses.  In addition, Ms. Levinson, a Certified Public Accountant, was a supervising senior accountant at KPMG Peat Marwick.  Ms. Levinson is currently a member of and President of the California Ballet Association Board of Directors.  Additionally, she is currently the audit committee chair and designated “financial expert” of SDSU Associated Students, Inc.  She received her bachelor’s degree in business administration and accounting from SDSU.

Vice President~
Frank Parra
is a City Councilman of National City and San Diego Medical Services/Rural Metro San Diego Operations Manager. He is the President of the Hispanic Community of National City and Christmas in July and a member of Mercy Outreach, National City Lions Club, the Boys & Girls Clubs of National City, and serves on the Advisory Board for the Hispanic MAAD. A National City native, Frank is married and has one daughter. Since 2003, Mr. Parra, past president, assists in development and fund raising.

Vise President~
Sanjeev K. Dhand
is a founding partner at the law firm of AlbertDhand LLP. In the past, Mr. Dhand has practiced with two large intellectual property firms in San Diego and was the vice president of Intellectual Property for Kintera, Inc., a publicly traded company.  In 2010, The Daily Transcript selected him as a San Diego County Top Attorney Finalist.  During law school, Mr. Dhand interned for Circuit Judge Randall Rader at the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. Before law school, Mr. Dhand was an aerospace engineer in the defense industry, having worked with General Dynamics and Lockheed Martin.  Mr. Dhand graduated from the University of Illinois (B.S., 1988) and Georgetown University Law Center (J.D., 2000), where he served as notes and comments editor of the Georgetown Journal on Poverty Law and Policy and president of the Student Intellectual Property Law Association.

John Stubbs, Corresponding Secretary, is the Music Director/Conductor for the CBC. A professional musician, he holds a Bachelors degree in Violin Performance from Southern Illinois University and a Masters degree in Violin Performance from the University of Arizona. Formerly a member of the Memphis Symphony, and Tucson Symphony, Mr. Stubbs is currently a member of San Diego Symphony and performs with the San Diego Opera and the Mainly Mozart Festival.

Sheila Ferguson-Webb, Membership Secretary Graduated with a B.Comm (Hons) from Queens University, Canada and obtained her Chartered Accountancy designation.  Sheila worked for KPMG Chartered Accountants for nine years and left the firm to join a client, The Ondaatje Corporation in Toronto and lived in Sri Lanka for three years overseeing their investment, stock brokerage and tea trading operations.  Upon a corporate reorganization she and her husband relocated to La Jolla where she worked in various capacities with the newly formed company in the Finance area and retired as Vice President, Finance & Treasurer in 2001.  Since retirement Sheila has volunteered extensively in a fundraising and financial capacity at St James by the Sea Episcopal Church, Bird Rock Elementary School and CBC where she is the Membership Chair.

Kevin Galligan is a Marketing Consultant and President of RSVP Publications, Inc. He joined the board during 2005-06. Kevin graduated from Old Dominion University in Virginia with a degree in Physics.  He moved to San Diego in 1992 and has owned and developed several small businesses.  He assists California Ballet with finance and marketing.

Herald Hahn

Jeffrey R. Jenkins, B.S., D.V.M. - Dr. Jenkins is a husband and father.  He received his Bachelor of Science from the University of Utah,  Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Colorado State University, Preceptorship at the Denver Zoological Gardens, “residency” at the Animal Medical Centre.  He opened the Avian & Exotic Animal Hospital in San Diego, California in 1987.  The practice is limited to birds, reptiles, small companion exotic animals, wildlife medicine and surgery and consulting in avian, exotic and laboratory animal medicine.  The practice is world renown for the innovative and quality care it offers its clients and their animals.

            He is internationally recognized for his work in avian and medicine and.  He has lectured nationally and internationally and his work published in peer reviewed journals, texts and monographs.  Dr. Jenkins was one of the first veterinarians to hold Diplomat status in the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners in Avian Practice.  He played an active role with several veterinary organizations including the Association of Avian Veterinarians, where he was President, Conference Chairman, and Education Chairman.  Dr. Jenkins was the Exotic Animal Program Chairman and Small Mammal Program Chairman for the North American Veterinary Conference, the world’s largest veterinary conference.  He was a charter member of the Association of Reptilian and Amphibian Veterinarians.  He is active in the San Diego Veterinary Medical Association and the California Veterinary Medical Association where he sat on the House of Delegates and acted as an Alternate Delegate.  Dr. Jenkins is Active in the National and San Diego Chapter of the American Association of Laboratory Animal and a member of both the American Society of Laboratory Animal Practitioners and the California Laboratory Animal Specialists.  He is also a member of the American Association of Avian Pathologist where he sat on the Committee on Wildlife Diseases.  He was a Director of The Wildlife Center (San Diego), and he was instrumental in forming the San Diego Chapter of the House Rabbit Society and Ferrets Anonymous.

Jim Levinson - James Levinson is a Managing Director in PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP's State and Local Tax Practice in San Diego with over 23 years of experience in the field. Prior to joining PricewaterhouseCoopers, he served as an advisor to the elected member of the State Board of Equalization representing the 3rd District.  He is a Certified Public Accountant in California and is frequent speaker at numerous state tax forums. Board member, Kumeyaay Foundation (through 2004-2008).

Evelyn Steppe retired from a career in education having worked in both the private and public sector. She received her BA from San Diego State University and ECE and CA Teaching Credential. She volunteers with the San Diego Police and various women’s groups as well as CBA’s Membership and Fundraising Committees. Evelyn is a key proponent for promoting CBC within the African/American Community and she enjoys singing with the Martin L. King Community Choir.

Maxim C. W. Webb – Having received his BSC from London University in England, Mr. Webb is currently the CFO for PICO Holdings, Inc., a public corporation in San Diego. He is a member of  St. James by the Sea and currently serves on the Board of Episcopal Community Services . He enjoys music, the opera, travel and sports. He and his wife and their two daughters reside in La Jolla, California.

Warren Williams -  is the retired Assistant Superintendent of Information and Technology Services for the Grossmont Union High School District in La Mesa California. He served as Educational Technology Coordinator, Adult School Principal, Dean of Students and teacher. His responsibilities included development, implementation, and comprehensive management of technology and data-management infrastructures as well as their implications with respect to the instructional program.

Warren serves as President of the Board of Directors for the California Educational Technology Professionals Association, He has written numerous articles regarding the utilization of technology in the educational environment and presented at state and national conferences. He has been selected to serve on County and State committees that address assessment and technology issues. Warren pioneered work on Internet and Intranet development and has consulted with districts throughout the country on educational and information technology implementations.

Howard Ziment - Howard Ziment has over 25 years experience as a senior business executive, strategist and strategic marketer.  He is currently the Managing Partner for Minta (www.mintagroup.com) , a private equity firm focused on helping early stage entrepreneurial enterprises get their start.

Before Minta, Ziment was the Chairman of Kantar Health, the largest strategic healthcare  consulting\marketing research organization in the world. Kantar Health was formed in 2009 by the merger of TNS Healthcare and The Ziment Group, the company that Ziment grew and ran for 20 years. In 2001 he sold The Ziment Group to The Kantar Group, the information and consultancy division of the WPP Group (the world's largest marketing services organization). He then continued to serve as the Group CEO for five years post sale until the end of 2006, then serving as Chairman until 2010.

Ziment is an advisor to, and is on, several boards in business and in his community (President of the board at La Jolla Country Day School and on the board at the California Ballet).  He is a graduate from Georgetown University with a BS in Marketing and resides in San Diego, CA with his wife and his two young daughters. He enjoys coaching his daughters' soccer and softball teams and is an avid golfer
